rosa, that just updated. 29 in san jose, 37 san francisco and 34 degrees in livermore. freeze warnings up for most of the bay area except for san francisco, the lows into the 20s and 30s again, then i think we'll see one more night of freezing temperature then after that it should start to moderate into wednesday. in the meantime though the temperatures will be chilly by the afternoon. we'll have plenty of sunshine all day long but grab a jacket. you may need it, only 47 for a high in concord, 48 livermore, 52 in san jose, and about 52 degrees in san francisco. that's a look at weather guys, back to you. >>> people were shivering throughout the bay area this weekend. this ice rink in walnut creek was a popular place despite the chilly weather. >> dressed up, bundled, three layers down. >> good day to come ice skating? >> it's a great day to come ice skating. >> what do you think of the cold weather? >> it's so cold. >> i'm freezing, but it's awesome. >> it's very cold but it's amazing to skate on this ice. >> it's so cold. there's ice everywhere. >> well they love it. even with the sun

of the rainfall totals over the last 24 hours. .47 in napa. .4 in santa rosa. almost .3 for oakland, san francisco picking up almost .4. san jose picking up .13. we have seen snowfall in areas right around the santa cruz mountains, right over the summit, mount st. helena has reported a little snow. northern areas of napa county reported some snow yesterday. a few sprinkles that may or may not be hitting the ground at this point. it's sort of fascinating when we get that snow in our local hills. i'm seeing a little here remaining. that moisture over mount diablo. the altamont pass area stretching across 580. this is just the very tail end. we're going to see this actually continue to move to the south. if you are going to tahoe this weekend, still snow with an advisory over tahoe until 10:00 a.m. for the west slope droiring up to tahoe it's until 4:00 p.m. today. we have snow levels to pollock pines and in and around areas from truckee into blue canyon. snow level still fairly low, 3500 feet-4500 feet out there this morning. the winds are picking up. 8 miles per hour in nap awrks 9 in fairfield, 6

people from making the best of it. rose why flores has been following posts on social media. rosa, what are you seeing out there? >> i've been seeing a little bit of everything. some pictures of dangerous roads, slushy airports and then this. take a look, eagles and lions fans in what they say are blizzard like conditions cheering on their favorite team. now one woman even tweeted me saying she bought tickets for her husband and that, well, it was for his birthday and he is out there sending her photos of the snowy mess. if you're curious, eagles did better on the snow winning the game 34-20. but conditions on roadways can get very dangerous. very slick out there. this picture tweeted out by dan amos. of a 30-car pileup in milwaukee, wisconsin. a reminder for you folks, stay home if you can. take a lock at low visibility in eugene oregon. this photo is from i-reporter steve gladder. temperature there he says, negative 10 degrees. thank you so much for sending your pictures and comments on twitter. that of course is @rosaflores. >> at least people have a sense of humor and we appreciate

all day. not to mention creative work from the field crews there. rosa flores joins us now in richfield, naurnl. how are things now? >> reporter: john, slick, wet road conditions are what drivers are expecting. we talked to a driver who made a 180 on the interstate. and let's say that he's counting his blessings this morning. we have plight precipitation. and if you take a look, visibility is one of the things that emergency officials are tell us that they're worried about. clouds are low, visibility is low. they're worried about that. i just got off the phone with the new jersey department of transportation, and they say that they said 800 trucks out overnight plowing and spreading salt to make sure the roadways were as good as can be for drivers. i also talked to the emergency management. and they tell me that in new jersey, they saw almost a slit. now the storm was moving from south to north. and the conditions initially were really bad in the southern part of new jersey. now they're experiencing more flooding and ponding in that part of the state. so they're asking driv

in doors and venting their weather blues online. rosa, you have been following this. there's a good response as to how people are riding this out. >> they are. one of the things that really stands out is the variation in temperatures. some areas in arkansas the temperatures went from 70 degrees to freezing. here's an interesting contrast. they found their colorful flowers covered in ice. this was sent in by ireporter susan brockett, she said the day started off with drizzle and then bam, pounding layers of ice. and joslin lockwood from texas, she said still covered in ice with power outages remaining but roads have improved immensely. and don't let the sun fool you, i've soon several pictures like these. this is from ireporter mark ivy from indiana. he said looks are deceiving and that is true. mark ivy said the temperatures fall into the single digits at night and rise only into the mid 20s during the day. tweet me your pictures or send me a message on facebook. i love to hear from you. thank you so much for keeping us posted. >> i love the ice. it's so beautiful but you have to be

. the speaker pro tempore: the gentlelady is recognized for one minute. ms. kelly: on sunday we celebrated rosa parks day. thursday, we observed the start of the montgomery bus boycott. and friday we commemorate the 148th anniversary of the 13th amendment which ended slavery. as we reflect on these historic events, we see how far our nation has come in advancing equality for all americans. however, recent actions, like the supreme court's gutting the vote rights act, we have much more work to do. the truth is that voter discrimination and suppression live on today as ugly legacies of our past. in the past few years, many states have introduced legislation that would restrict access to a voting booth. these discriminatory actions prove that the protections in the voting rights act are still necessary its in our world today. so this week, as we remember the struggles and sacrifices made to ensure basic rights for all americans, i urge my colleagues to continue fighting to ensure no american is denied their right to vote. i yield back. the speaker pro tempore: the gentlewoman yields back the balan
